Unable to open program (Oops/Unexpected error) after updating

After installing an update, you may be unable to open TurboLaw Time and Billing because you receive an error message (the "Oops" unexpected error message). Clicking "Show me the details of this error" will reveal the source of the error as something similar to this:

System.InvalidOperationException: An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details.  The error is: Could not load file or assembly 'DevExpress.BonusSkins.v11.1, Version=, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=95fc6c5621878f0a' or one of its dependencies. The located assembly's manifest definition does not match the assembly reference.

This error is caused by the update being unable to update one (or more) of the DLL files used by TurboLaw Time and Billing. This can be caused by trying to open the program while it is being updated, or by anti-virus or backup programs "locking" the file during the update so that it cannot be replaced, leaving the program in a "half updated, half not updated" state.

In most cases, this problem can be resolved by re-installing the update. (Click here to re-download and the update - be sure to choose "Run" if prompted.) Note: Make sure TurboLaw Time and Billing is closed before re-installing the update.

Re-installing the update will replace the missing file(s) - none of your settings will be changed, and your data will be untouched.

In some rare cases, you may need to delete the "locked" file before the update can replace it. The name of the DLL file will be mentioned in the details of the error message, and the files are located in the folder where TurboLaw Time and Billing is installed.
