Error "Could not change the editing mode" (error 800A03EC) when trying to edit Excel-based (Financial) forms

Clicking the TurboLaw Edit Document button in an Excel-based document (such as a Rule 401 Short Form, a Child Support Guidelines Worksheet, or a HUD-1 form), an error message will appear which says:

Could not change the editing mode on the current document due to an error: Exception from HRESULT: 0x800A03EC

This behavior occurs when multiple "sheets" (page tabs) of an Excel-based document are selected. Selected sheets are highlighted white (as opposed to the normal gray). In Excel, this is known as "grouping." To un-group the tabs, right-click on the current tab and choose Ungroup Sheets. You will now be able to click the Edit Document button without any errors.

Note: if you have the Shared Workbook feature of Excel enabled for a particular file, you may receive this error message even after you have ungrouped the sheets. In this case, you will need to disable the shared workbook feature.
